Chinese Culture Center of SF
Young Ones ADC [2026] Finalist- Branding and Identity
The heart of the Chinese Culture Center of SF lays in the intersection of art, community, and activism, spearheading inclusive events such as Chinatown Pride and partnering with marginalized artists across various disciplines.
The CCC is the oldest Asian American arts organization in the US, serving San Francisco Chinatown since the civil rights movement. It carries forward the legacy of those who fought displacement and racism in the 1960s by empowering artists who redefine belonging, identity, and power through contemporary art. It currently supports minority contemporary artists through events and their community studio 41 Ross.
I reimagined a bold, dynamic identity that simultaneously honors Chinatown history while also embracing modernity, integrating a system that can still adapt to complement a variety of purposes, partnerships, and accompanying artwork. Traditional Chinese philosophy like wuxing theory and feng shui merge with the busy streets of SF Chinatown into a brand that isn't afraid to challenge norms while remaining authentically cultural.
